Santa Claus is coming to Menasha December 12-16th

The Santa Float is a time honored tradition for the Cities of Neenah and Menasha.  Off duty firefighters from Local 275 volunteer their time to help Santa make his rounds.

The Menasha Boy’s Club started the Santa Float in the City of Menasha in 1989.  The group was made up of members in the community that visited the “Old Grog”.   Many people had their hand in establishing the float.  Some of the members include Charles (Bucky) Kilishek, Frank Erdmann, Gary (Rox) Kilishek, Tom (Tractor) Jakowski, Herb Trader, Gene Herubin and Dan Gries.  They started the float to put a smile on the young children’s faces throughout the City of Menasha.  Santa threw out popcorn balls and candy to the kids.

In 1997 the Menasha Firefighters, Local 695 continued the tradition that the Boys Club had begun.

2003 marked the year of a combined Santa float with the creation of Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue.

The Santa Float is funded by Local 275 Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue and donations from local businesses and citizens from the Cities of Neenah and Menasha.  Local 275 would like to thank Bruce Levenhagen from Neenah Standard for donating all of the fuel for the float this year.

Santa begins his route every night at 5:30 p.m. and depending upon weather conditions it takes him 2 - 2 1/2 hours to complete his route.
